"It was Shadow's World and I was lucky to live in it"

Still single at age 44, Mary Ellen Weiland had given up hope of meeting the love of her life when a man named Brian came into her world.  Fun, adventurous, caring and loving, Brian seemed to be the one — until he died suddenly early in their relationship.  After much deliberation and in the midst of her grief,  Weiland decided to adopt Brian’s black Labrador retriever, Shadow, not knowing that the decision would change her life forever.  Through their many adventures and his quiet wisdom, Shadow taught Weiland important life lessons: how to trust and believe in herself, how to live in the moment, how to persevere despite life’s obstacles, how to have boundaries, how to find passion, and ultimately how to love.  This inspirational story — which includes the lessons Weiland learned from Shadow along thought-provoking questions aimed at promoting self-reflection — will enlighten and inspire readers of all kinds. Their story will inspire anyone who has ever struggled to find their true essence and love in the world.
